Because my Mother and Father never gave up praying for me daily through the darkest times I am here today. God answered their prayers showing grace when I deserved none. My Father when he had every right in the world to tell me how disappointed he was instead time after time showed me love when I needed it the most. I already knew how disappointed he was as I knew he didn't raise me to turn my back from God. I can make all kinds of excuses and good ones they’d be why I went south when I knew the truth pointed north. Yet, the fact remains I am responsible for my own decisions, and if not for the examples my Father set for me I highly doubt I’d be here today.
When I think back at the pain I caused my Mother and Father it grieves me to think all those years they endured watching their son go down the wrong road. God kept me safe when I should have died many times. If you are a Parent reading this with a child headed in the wrong direction keep going to your knees. It might take 15 years I don't know. What I do know is don't give up.
God hasn't!
Lost years running from what is real to chasing worldly desires. All that lost time God could have been molding me into the person he created me to be. Instead he watched his child destroy himself searching for what he already knew in the back of his mind was the truth due to his up bringing. My Father taught me to stand up for what I believe is right no matter the cost.
That is why it is "The Soapbox" page I dedicate to him as this will be dealing with issues that are unpopular as well as some of my positions will be. My Father probably would not agree with everything I write here. But he'd still love me as I hope you will too. LOL! I do know he would agree that there is no middle ground. Either something is right, or it's wrong. Let God's word be your guide he would tell me. Thanks Dad! I love you more then you'll ever know for that.
At the Soapbox I'll be talking about different issues giving my take on them. I hope they make you think, get angry in a good way. What is good anger? Good anger is the kind that says yes we need to bring glory to God by changing what is going on. Bad anger is saying I give up on Church. They are all like that and nothing will change them. That's just plain ignorance talking! That is the type of anger satan thrives on. He knows that attitude will never bring change for the better.
As you can tell by now if you are use to reading Political Correct Christian blogs I suggest this may not be the place for you. Some issues I'll be throwing the hammer down quite hard. Any comments, rants, or about time someone has the guts to speak out encouragement comments can always be sent to greg@atthegateministries.org Be gentle. LOL!
